ABOUT THE ARTIST
Maxwell is an American singer, songwriter, and producer known for his smooth blend of R&B, soul, and neo-soul music. He gained prominence in the late 1990s with the release of his debut album Maxwell's Urban Hang Suite (1996), which featured the hit single "Ascension (Don't Ever Wonder)."
His sultry falsetto and emotionally rich ballads made him a standout figure in the neo-soul movement, alongside artists like D'Angelo and Erykah Badu. Maxwell's music is characterized by its mix of sensuality, introspection, and melodic sophistication, and he has earned multiple Grammy Awards throughout his career. His subsequent albums, including Embrya (1998) and BLACKsummers'night (2009), continued to solidify his influence in the R&B genre.
